His father, Yogendra Kumar Taneja is a retired banker and his mother, Bharti Taneja is a teacher by profession.

In 2011, he did his flight training from CAE,Madrid, a flight school in Spain. He worked as a captain in Indigo in 2014 and joined Air Asia in May 2019.
